Location & how to get there...

The Oriental Kwai resort has a central location in Kanchanaburi province in the charming village of Ladya, only 15 min. by car/taxi or boat from the famous river Kwai bridge and on the way to sights as the Erawan waterfalls, Elephants World & Hellfire pass museum. This makes the Oriental Kwai resort an ideal base for sightseeing in this beautiful area. Being in the counrtyside also great to have a taste of local Thai village life; explore the local village markets and cruise through the lovely green scenery by bicycle!

By public BUS from the Southern busterminal (Sai Tai terminal) or Mochit terminal

Airconditioned busses (1st class & VIP or minivans) leave every 30 minutes from 5 am till 7 pm from Bangkok Mochit New Van Terminal and Sai Tai terminal.  It takes about 2,5 hours to reach Kanchanaburi bust station in a first class bus. Once you have arrived at the bus station in Kanchanaburi you can take local taxi to take you to the resort (local orange taxi is 250 Baht for the drive, not p.p.). From the bus station in Kanchanaburi to the resort takes for about 20 minutes.

By private minivan or TAXI

It's also possible to rent a private minivan or taxi to get to our resort, very comfortable but since it's private more expensive as normal public transport of course. You can rent the minivan or taxi yourself at the airport or the hotel you are staying at or you can let us know in advance and we can arrange one for you. A transfer from Bangkok (hotel) to the resort via us is 2500 Bath for the drive incl. fuel (minivan, max. 8 persons or an SUV). Of course it is most efficient to have the minivan completed, that means 8 passengers, for just 1 or 2 it is relatively expensive but still affordable. You can also consider taking a regular taxi meter and negotiate a price (±1800-2500 Bath is normal for a drive to Kanchanaburi depeding on the starting point in Bangkok). If you travel with a taxi meter we recommend to bring our phone number (061-6730670) for the driver so he can call us in case he needs directions in Thai on the way.

By 3rd class TRAIN

Ordinairy trains leave Thonburi (Bangkok Noi) train station twice a day: 07.50 am and 13.55 pm. It's not possible but also not needed to pre-book tickets since the train is never full. The train is a 3rd class local train, please note it leaves from a small train station which is called Thonburi station (in Thai: สถานีรถไฟธนบุรี) and not Hua Lampong main station in Bangkok!). Travelling by train usually takes 2,5 hour, late arrivals are very not unusual but it is an interesting and fun exprience. Once you have arrived at the train station in Kanchanaburi you can take local taxi to take you to the resort (local open orange taxi is 250 Baht for the drive, not p.p.). From the train  station in Kanchanaburi to the resort takes for about 20 minutes.
